Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves and their echoes to show images of the inside of your body. An ultrasound machine transmits high-frequency sound waves into your body using a probe. The sound waves are reflected and bounce back when they hit a boundary, such as bone, soft tissue and fluid. The “reflections” are shown on a screen in real time. The Imaging Center's state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment provides technicians and physicians with the highest-quality images.
